Congratulations to Sophie for passing her 11 plus. Our best wishes go to you when you start at Southend High School for Girls in September 2007
Ian Webb Once again Ian has completed the gruelling 26 mile London marathon course. He achieved a personal best despite having a cough and cold, he battled on to the finish post. All his sponsorship money is going to the Mental Health Association. Well done Ian
Sarah Nibloe Hi
everyone. Well this was the 5th year running I have taken part in Race4Life. Both
my mum & Dad have had cancer and my mum's friend of 40 years died the
week before the race after bravely fighting cancer over the last 10
years, and I believe that while I'm fit & healthy I should do my bit in
raising money to help.
It's a 5km running/walking event organised by Cancer
Research UK to raise money for their charity. I have raised near to £400.00
this year ~ thanks to all my generous sponsors ~ and I managed to run it in
29 mins 11secs with the temperatures hitting 32 degrees!! My goal was to
come in the top 15 and I was thrilled to learn I came 11th out of 2000. (Sue
from Essex FM called my name out as I crossed the line. I don't know how I
will cope with the fame!!!) Maybe next year I'll aim for the top 10 and see
where I come!!! Hopefully it won't be such a scorcher!!!
Well Done Sarah
